I used to wake up in the morning
I used to lay to rest in style
But then I couldn't recall a single thing
That made the day worthwhile
I used to day-dream all the morning
And dream all through the day
Until I heard a wise man preaching
And these are the words he'd say
I ain't got time to kill in the morning
I ain't got time in the day
I ain't got time to kill nobody Lord
Or lead a good friend astray
I just got a little time in the morning
Just got a little time in the day
I just got enough time to live out my life
And live it in every way
I used to yearn for gold and riches
And a masterpiece for the wall
But the more I got the more I craved
So it doesn't make sense at all
So I took out the book of wisdom
Which has was been so true
And right before my eyes
Was what was meant for me and you
I ain't got time to kill in the morning
I ain't got time in the day
I ain't got time to kill nobody Lord
Or lead a good friend astray
I just got a little time in the morning
Just got a little time in the day
I just got enough time to live out my life
And live it in every way
I remember Mister Clemence (?)
As he sailed around the bend
He said, All men will be dreamers
And all dreamers will be men
Of course I still dream every now and then
Though when I do it don't take long
I just dream about a big round world
Where everyone sings their song
I ain't got time to kill in the morning
I ain't got time in the day
I ain't got time to kill nobody Lord
Or lead a good friend astray
I just got a little time in the morning
Just got a little time in the day
I just got enough time to live out my life
And live it in every way
